Mediterranean Diet: What you can eat

There are many diets and dietitians in the United States. Some of the diets are complete nonsense, while some of them are actually pretty good.

They usually all have a specific eating plan. They have specific rules about what is healthy for you and what is not, what will change your life and health and what will not.

Some say, “Eat meat!” While some say, “Eat vegetables!” Some have specific proportions of each that would be “the very best formula for your health.”

Some are centered on one specific food group that is what your body “really needs” and have very small proportions of everything else.

Some claim that they have researched and found the “miracle foods” that will cure your body.

Some people will look at other people who are healthier than them and base an entire diet off what that person eats. Who cares how much they exercise, who cares what is in their genes, it must be what they eat.

No matter what the diet, each person is convinced that theirs really is the correct one, the best option, the wonder diet.

The Mediterranean Diet is based off the diet, mainly of Greece, but also other Mediterranean countries.

This diet is different from the U.S. in that they eat a lot more vegetables and fish and less red meat. They also use monounsaturated fats, not saturated and trans fats. They also drink wine in moderation.

Basically if you do the Mediterranean Diet you have an increase in how much fish you eat, fresh fruits and vegetables you eat, and you eat less red meat and processed foods.

All the foods in the Mediterranean diet include: high consumption of fruit and vegetables, bread and other cereals, olive oil and fish.

So it probably wouldn’t be good to eat out and Wendy’s everyday, or any day, and it probably wouldn’t be good to eat too much chicken, but mostly fish.

Some place like Red Lobster would probably become your new favorite resteraunt. And for wine drinkers, it means that wine is something that will probably now become a favorite part of your diet.

Probably if you didn’t especially like the taste of Mediterranean food you could take the diet and revise it to your likeing.

Not completely. Use the same foods and such and make up your own meals and dishes that you think are delicious.

The point is mainly to use lots of fish and olive oil, not saturated and trans fats, little red meat, lots of vegetables and fruits, and breads and cereals.

There are probably a million meals that you could come up with with these ingredients that would be delicious. Who knows, maybe you will come up with some that are real dishes, without realizing it.

You could have a fish and vegetable sish, sauteed in olive oil. Then you coul have a fruit dessert and is delicious and practically all fruite. As a side you could have some bread. Mm . . .

If you are doing the Mediterranean diet, do not forget to eat a lot of fish, that is key. As well as using olive oil. That is key too. And lots of vegetables. Your health will be just wonderful, like the greeks.

Unless of course there health has nothing to do with their diet and it is hereditary, or the air or something. Maybe there are should just be imported here and we can all breath it and magically become healthy. That would be pretty nice.

But if it is the diet, enjoy and do not forget to eat the important things like fish.
